Andy has joined SAS as our NED & Chair of Trustees. Andy is the CEO and Director of the Open Banking Portal and has experience in the charity sector previously being a board member and trustee of the 401 Foundation, He currently sits on the board of utility6 a CIC business based in Scotland. Andy brings a wealth of experience to SAS and has a passion to make a positive impact in suicide prevention.
Gareth has over 20 years experience in finance, commercial and governance. he currently sits on the board the British Gymnastics as an Executive Director being responsible for finance, commercial operations, product development, management and membership and community services.
Gareth believes that mental wellbeing is vital now more than ever. As all too often we are reading about young people ending their lives. The prevention of suicide particularly in sport is an area he feels he can lend his experience to to make change.
Sally is the Company director of SO Training & Consulting and she brings a wealth of knowledge and experience of safeguarding and over 20 years of experience working with vulnerable people and groups within society. she has worked within both Charity and the sporting sectors. Sally believes that the world of sport is a challenging one and we want to ensure that there is somewhere where people can receive advice and support. where organisations can receive training and support to ensure they can respond appropriately. Suicide Prevention is a cause that sally aligns well with and aims to support SAS underpinning values to push forward with our mission.
Julian is the Creator & founder of Football4Football,He brings with him a wealth of experience as a ex professional footballer and now the founder of Football4Football a leading resource for those that play football, he has experienced first hand the pressures and wide range of emotions that life as a young athlete can bring. Julian believes that the work we do together will be a constant for those that work and play within the industry, it will be a sounding board and amplifier. If one life can be positively affected then this ripple effect it will build a wave for a sea of change.
Andy is Business Development for Aspire Personnel Ltd. He has over 35 years experience in the insurance and financial services industries. he has extensive knowledge in building commercial relationships and has operated at board level he was a director for the 401 Foundation and now looks to support the growth of commercial fundraising partnerships here at SAS. Suicide prevention is a cause very close to Andy's Heart and looks forward to working collectively to make change.
William is a company director and of capital life and has over ten years experience of working in the death care industry, providing a service with sensitivity and care for those who have lost a loved one. He has joined us here at SAS as prevention of suicide is a cause he personally aligns with after the loss of a close friend. He looks to help us raise awareness and assist in vital revenue generation through his extensive knowledge and network.
Elaine having recently retired after 35 years working for Jaguar Landrover, has been a immense support to our founder from the beginning of the SAS journey and now looks to continue through supporting the important work we do here at SAS. Suicide prevention is a cause close to her heart and she believes that with the support and education we can make a difference that counts.
Tara founded SAS in 2019 after her own experience of suicide intent. Having found hope and connectedness through her discovery of football, specifically Tottenham Hotspur. She decided to create a non-profit that would teach young academy sports scholars and grassroots athletes the important skills of wellbeing. With the aim to prevent suicidal intent and cutting suicide statistics in the future. SAS although predominantly working within football is set up to look after the athletes, coach and the staff within any sports organisation and looks forward to delivering its work within all sporting sectors.
